REHAB TECHNICIAN in SOUTH BEND, WASHINGTON
- Full-time 30 hours per week, Monday thru Friday
- $17 – $19/hour based on experience

The rehab technician may assist with transporting patients/clients, setting up equipment/machines for treatment, and assist therapists in selected procedures according to federal, state and facility-specific rules and regulations under the direct supervision of the onsite occupational therapist (OTR), certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA), physical therapist (PT), physical therapy assistant (PTA), or speech-language pathologist (SLP). The role also involves administrative support, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the clinic, and various other duties as needed
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Communication and Administration:
- Answer phones and take messages professionally.
- Greet patients, clients, family members, caregivers, and visitors warmly.
- Assist with the completion of paperwork, including intake forms, medical history, medications, and insurance.
- Perform clerical tasks such as copying, scanning, and filing.
- Support front-office processes and appointment reminders.
- Patient and Therapist Support:
- Follow directions from supervising therapists during patient mobility, transfers, ambulation, and therapeutic interventions.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and facility rules.
- Maintain a service-oriented approach with all interactions.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and inventory monitoring.
- Department Maintenance:
- Perform housekeeping tasks to keep the department clean.
- Help reduce costs and improve productivity.
- Foster positive relationships with the healthcare team, patients, and caregivers.
- Adhere to safety, risk, and emergency procedures.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
- Must be at least 16 years old and maintain regular attendance.

Language Skills:
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence.
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one settings.

Reasoning Skills:
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions.

Other Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with data entry and accurate typing.
- Ability to relate positively and professionally with others.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt for efficient operations.
- Ability to perform job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Physical Demands
- Includes sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 70 pounds with or without assistance.
- Requires fine hand coordination, hearing, reading, writing, and stress management.
- Specific vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision.
Work Environment
- Moderate noise levels.
- Potential exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids, especially in hospital and nursing home settings.
- Must be tolerant of patients recovering from surgeries, illnesses, and wounds.
