What made you choose RehabVisions for your clinical experience?

I actually had a tuition repayment grant that required me to return to my hometown of Dalhart to work in the local hospital after graduation. RehabVisions had taken over the therapy contract the year before I finished school, so I essentially “fell into” the RehabVisions family during my final clinical rotation—and I’m so glad I did.

Why did you decide to stay and continue your career with RehabVisions?

I’ve been with RehabVisions for 21 years, and the reason is simple: the company has always prioritized people. The patient-centered, family-focused culture is real here. I’ve always felt supported professionally and personally. Not every company offers that.

What do you enjoy most about working with RehabVisions?

RehabVisions has consistently supported my growth. Whether it’s clinical skills, leadership development or balancing life outside of work, I’ve always had people cheering me on. I’m a better therapist and a better leader because of the opportunities and trust I’ve been given.

What advice would you give students considering a career with us?

Why not? We’re competitive in every way, and the skills you gain in a rural setting are endless. The experiences here prepare you to work anywhere. And the support system—from colleagues to leadership—helps you give patients the best care possible. That’s why we all became therapists.

Do you have a favorite memory from your student or early career days?

There are so many. I remember the holiday gatherings, the camaraderie with the therapy team and office staff and the visits from Bill and Steve from the home office. Steve loved a good field trip and good food. Those early days really shaped how connected and supported I felt.

On Mentorship and Working With Students

Stephanie has been mentoring clinical students for the past two decades:

“I love having students because they bring the newest research and are eager to learn. As a manager and clinician, having a student become a new hire is amazing. You already know each other, know the expectations and know how to work together.”

She believes strongly in paying it forward:

“We all had to go on clinical rotations. It’s our duty to help train the next generation. Every year we have one to three students in our Dalhart clinic, and it enriches our whole team.”

Stephanie’s own former clinical instructor and current COO Bill Mannewitz, PT, shares his own reflections on mentorship and seeing her develop over the years:

There is joy in seeing the growth and development of a clinician over the entire span of their career. Stephanie has brought me joy and friendship over our tenure. I feel we have both grown tremendously over the course of our careers. She has often inspired me to be a better leader and person.”

Bill also reflects on the value of having students in clinical settings:

“I will admit that it has been a long time since I have taken a student, but my memories of that experience are all positive. I enjoyed the teaching and mentoring. I also looked for opportunities to glean new knowledge from some freshly educated professionals.”

RehabVisions is proud to have leaders like Stephanie who not only serve as clinicians, but also mentors and community anchors who help shape the next generation of therapists.

RehabVisions invests in its people and creates opportunities for growth across every stage of a therapist’s career.

If you know a student, recent graduate or experienced clinician who would thrive in our culture, reach out to your Operations Director or our Talent Acquisition Team. We’d love to connect and share what makes RehabVisions such a great place to grow.
