Rehab Tech in Seward, Nebraska
- Busy outpatient therapy clinic
- Hours: 10 – 20 hours per week
- Entry level role, pay depends upon experience
Under the direct supervision of onsite occupational therapists (OTR), certified occupational therapy assistants (COTA), physical therapists (PT), physical therapy assistants (PTA), or speech-language pathologists (SLP), the rehab technician assists with patient/client transportation, equipment setup, and selected procedures in accordance with federal, state, and facility-specific regulations. The role also involves administrative support, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the clinic, and various other duties as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Communication and Administration:
- Answer phones and take messages professionally.
- Greet patients, clients, family members, caregivers, and visitors warmly.
- Assist with the completion of paperwork, including intake forms, medical history, medications, and insurance.
- Perform clerical tasks such as copying, scanning, and filing.
- Support front-office processes and appointment reminders.
- Patient and Therapist Support:
- Follow directions from supervising therapists during patient mobility, transfers, ambulation, and therapeutic interventions.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and facility rules.
- Maintain a service-oriented approach with all interactions.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and inventory monitoring.
- Department Maintenance:
- Perform housekeeping tasks to keep the department clean.
- Help reduce costs and improve productivity.
- Foster positive relationships with the healthcare team, patients, and caregivers.
- Adhere to safety, risk, and emergency procedures.
Qualifications:

Must be at least 16 years old and maintain regular attendance.

Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence.
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one settings.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions.
- Experience with data entry and accurate typing.
- Ability to relate positively and professionally with others.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt for efficient operations.
- Ability to perform job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Physical Demands
- Includes sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 70 pounds with or without assistance.
- Requires fine hand coordination, hearing, reading, writing, and stress management.
