Nancy Groff Named Home Health Therapist of the Year

Home Care and Hospice Association of Washington voted Nancy Groff, PT the Therapist of the Year this past April. Nancy, a 23-year RehabVisions’ employee, works in Prosser, Washington.

In her acceptance speech, Nancy said that the award was “probably the highlight of my 47-year career” and thanked RehabVisions for “the support, freedom and confidence in the past 23 years to be the best I can be.”

Alma Martinez, Director of Home Health at PMH Medical Center in Prosser, nominated Nancy for this honor. In her nomination letter to the Home Care Association of Washington committee, Alma praised Nancy as compassionate, kind, sensitive, having integrity, honest, ethical, respectful and courteous. She said, “Nancy reaffirms that miracles still happen with a little help from a caring and persistent person like her. We have gotten several sincere thank-you notes from patients and family members.”

Alma described two past patients who had been totally bedridden and “written off” by other health care agencies that Nancy was able to progress to standing and transferring with minimal assistance. She concluded her letter with, “She has my, and everybody else’s, respect for how she pushes herself to do what she needs to do to meet our patient’s needs.”
