RehabVisions SNF Leaders Come Together

RehabVisions welcomed its rehab directors and team leads from our skilled nursing communities last week. The group of 18 gathered in Omaha to join their peers in leadership development, clinical and compliance training.

The meeting kicked off with a welcome video introducing staff at the home office. It was the first of several as each rehab director/team lead was asked to introduce their community and staff through a short video submitted before the meeting. The videos served as icebreakers and entertainment between presentations.

“I was so impressed with the quality and creativity of the videos,” SNF Operations Manager Jennifer Flanagan, SLP said. “They were better than I ever expected and came complete with music and graphics.” The home office staff actually gathered late last week to enjoy all of the videos that were submitted. “It was a great way for people to get to know our communities better,” Jennifer said.

Back by popular demand from last year was Danielle Crough from Silverstone Group, an Omaha-based consultancy. She presented on Coaching for Accountability and was well received by the group. On Tuesday morning, Regional Clinical Manager Jolene Denn, SLP, presented “Dementia: Therapeutic Interventions and Creative Solutions.” This theme will be continued into 2015 as a focus for our SNF communities.

Presentations also covered RVSMart for the iPad, scope-of-practice education, peer documentation reviews and customer service.

Jennifer felt this annual meeting was the best one they have had since they started several years ago. She attributes much of that to the past year’s monthly conference call training to address clinical and compliance topics. That timely education allowed this meeting content to focus on larger, more in-depth training. “The group has made such great strides in their skills and knowledge in the past year,” she said. “I believe they will take much of what they learned back to their communities and therapy teams, and we will continue to strengthen each year.”
